I have been licensed to practice law in Texas since 1992 and have practiced exclusively family law since then. I am Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
I was appointed to serve as the first Judge of the 507th Family District Court, where I served from January 1, 2016 through December 31, 2016. Before that, I served as Associate Judge of 308th Family District Court from 2012 through 2015. You can read what people said about me as a judge on the Testimonials page of this site. I was very proud to have the support of the family bar.
Before becoming an associate judge, I was a child support prosecutor and “Friend of the Court” with the Harris County Domestic Relations Office for 10 years and was in private practice with my husband for 7 years, where we represented parties in family law cases in trial courts, courts of appeals, and the Texas Supreme Court.
I have been a trained family law mediator since 1994 and have been a speaker at many continuing legal education seminars.
I graduated from Texas A&M University (BBA, 1982) and the University of Houston Law Center (JD, 1992). I have been married to Dan Lemkuil since 2000 and we have a daughter, three cats, and a dog.
